HERO PANE: International Day of the Girl

International Day of the Girl -- October 11, 2018

Girls and women make up the majority of the more than 800 million people living in extreme poverty. They are at the center of all that CARE does because they are both most affected and most effective in creating change in their communities. Join CARE this October to take action in support of every girl around the world.

Tell Congress, Stand Up For Girls in Emergencies

In emergencies, girls too often become targets of violence and abuse. They are the first to be trafficked for sex or child labor; the first to be exploited as tools of war; and the first to lose their childhoods. Meanwhile, they are the last to be fed and the last to be enrolled in school. This must stop.
