Local Action, Global Conversation
What Is Local Action, Global Conversation?
When the desire to do good taps into our human nature to find purpose, people witness how their actions change lives and the results are powerful. Local Action, Global Conversation provides the opportunity to experience this feeling of purpose through a tangible, hands-on experience. This opportunity can also serve as an entry point to introduce new supporters to the CARE Action advocates in their community.
Step 1: Choose a Volunteer Organization
Look for local groups that deliver food to the homeless, assist with refugee resettlement, or provide support for women and girls. Check here for a few suggestions.
Step 2: Recruit Volunteers
Share location and event details via social media, email, or text. Reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org to get your event shared by CARE Action!
Step 3: Start a Global Conversation
Following your volunteer service, gather at a nearby coffee shop to talk through how your local action is a small piece of the global picture. Get talking points about CARE and suggested discussion questions here.
Step 4: Carry Your Action Forward
Make a plan for how you and your fellow volunteers can take action for a better world — connect with CARE Action online, follow us on Facebook and Twitter, or sign a petition to your members of Congress.
