Listen: Where Things Stand in the 2018 Midterms

With seven states voting in primary elections this week, and several more to come this July, our latest episode of the CARE Action podcast is exactly what we need right now. CARE Action’s Executive Director Rachael Leman hosts this week’s episode to give listeners the latest update on where things stand in the race for Congress and the 2018 midterms.

The midterms are about more than voting on Election Day — it’s about using your voice on the campaign trail and local races year-round. That’s why we’ve been talking about the midterms ever since February when Rachael interviewed political consultant and campaign manager Jon Seaton about what these elections mean for CARE’s global issues. In November, all 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 34 seats in the Senate are up for reelection, which could dramatically shift Congress and the Trump Administration’s current balance of power. The results of Election Day are critically important for the future of foreign and humanitarian assistance. But, the primary elections leading up to November are critically important, too.

On this week’s episode, Rachael checks in with political consultant Adam Deguire for a progress report. Give it a listen, share it with friends, spread the word and raise awareness that voting in the primary and midterm elections could change the world for good.
