LISTEN: The People Who Make CARE Work

LISTEN: The People Who Make CARE Work

Despite disheartening headlines about conflict abroad and chaos on Capitol Hill., CARE Action advocates have helped score some major victories for communities in poverty, including passing a foreign assistance budget that was better than we expected. We couldn’t be more grateful for the hard work of our advocates, so before we gather in Washington, D.C. from May 21 to 23 at the  CARE National Conference, we’re focusing out latest podcast episode on what matters most: CARE’s core mission and the people who put it to work.

In this week’s episode, host Jeanne Faulkner sits down with Matthew Pickard, Country Director for CARE Malawi, to ask what it’s like to live, work and lead in countries where CARE is making change happen. Who are the people that CARE is helping and what are the challenges they face everyday? These are the questions that drive CARE’s mission whether you’re a volunteer citizen advocate or a long-time CARE staff member. That’s what we’re talking about on this week’s episode. Download it here, share it on social media and talk about it with your friends. Together, we’re raising awareness that even though we still have a lot of work to do to combat global poverty issues, CARE’s mission and the people who put it in motion are as clear, determined, and motivated as ever.
