Here’s what you can do for women's and girls' equality right now!

1/7/17

Throughout history, strong women have stood up, joined forces, used their voices and their votes and demanded to be heard. Through sheer force of will (plus some exceptional leadership from both women and men), we’ve come a long way in terms of gender equality and human rights in this country. We still have a long way to go though. In every corner of the globe, women and girls still don’t have the same rights, privileges or advantages as men do. The result is that girls and women bear the brunt of poverty, violence, climate change and other forms of oppression.

It’s time for all that to change. It’s our time in history to stand up, join forces and create a powerful noise that cannot be ignored.  It’s our turn to leverage our power as Americans for women all over the world.  We must move the needle of progress forward and we need you to help.

No matter where you live, you can join our Walk In Her Shoes campaign.  You’ve got 30 seconds, right?  Here’s what you can do right now to advocate for women and girls all over the world. If you have:

  • 30 seconds – Share our Facebook post on our campaign, Walk in Her Shoes, and join us in solidarity with women all over the world.
  • 3 minutes – Sign our pledge and make a stand for women and girls. Then, share it with your friends via Facebook, Twitter or email.
  • 1 hour – Listen to the pilot episode of the CARE Action! podcast and subscribe to receive future episodes.
  • 3 hours – Take part in a Women’s March in your city. Let government leaders at every level know that the time has come to make girls and women’s rights, gender equity and futures a global priority

Ready, set, advocate – Walk in Her Shoes and stand up for women on January 21st.  Check out our Facebook page and WIHS campaign website for more information and subscribe to the CARE Action! podcast for insider information you can take with you anywhere.
