CAN Faith Outreach Toolkit

CAN Faith Outreach Toolkit

1/30/18

CARE has released a new advocate resource: the CARE Action Network Faith Outreach toolkit! We know that for some of our advocates, serving and advocating on behalf of marginalized and vulnerable communities with CARE is an expression of their faith. We’re excited to provide this toolkit that is designed to provide resources for CARE advocates who are inspired by their faith to take action and for those who are interested in engaging the faith community in CARE’s advocacy work.

In this toolkit, we provide resources to learn more about faith-based advocacy such as multi-faith collaboration and information regarding the social teachings of some major religions. We have also provided examples of how faith communities have responded to CARE’s advocacy issues: Foreign Assistance Budget, Food and Nutrition Security, Gender & Empowerment, Maternal Health, and Humanitarian Emergencies.

We hope you’ll utilize the resources here and consider how CARE’s approach to fighting global poverty may fit with your own beliefs or the beliefs of those around you. If you’re already connecting your faith and your advocacy work for CARE - please let us know by sharing your highlights and plans with your Regional Advocacy Coordinator!

We would like to hear how you use this toolkit. Please email us at can@care.org. On behalf of CARE and the people we serve, thank you for your dedication and passion as you faithfully work to fight global poverty.
