Advocates Meet with Rep. McCollum to Continue Work on Global Health

4/19/16

On February 8th Minnesota CARE advocates Bill Poppert, Frank Babka, Noah Nieting, Tsehai Wodajo, and Carmen Alvarez met with Rep. Betty McCollum (D-MN 4th) in her St. Paul district office.  Advocates thanked Congresswoman McCollum for her leadership in authoring, introducing, and building strong bi-partisan support for The Global Food Security Act (HR 1567) and The Reach Every Mother & Child Act (HR 3706), as well as her continued work as a global health champion in Congress.

Congresswoman McCollum expressed her deep appreciation for CARE’s work in implementing and advocating on behalf of women and girls and encouraged CARE advocates to continue their great work. In addition to discussing CARE’s advocacy agenda for 2016, advocates asked Rep. McCollum to speak at an upcoming event in Minneapolis focused on the needs of women and girls in refugee settings.
